The Benefits of Homebirth

Birth is not a disease.  Women know that their body can birth a baby.  Birth is a normal human event—a major life-changing event—and there is only one chance to make it a wonderful experience.  Homebirth is a gentler way for a baby to enter the world.  The baby is not separated from his parents at a homebirth, as in hospital births.  The baby is not subjected to the drugs and interventions he might otherwise be at risk of encountering.

Families want to be more proactive in their care than what they would otherwise experience.  Families want to take responsibility for their choices and to educate themselves on the decisions they need in their pregnancy and birth.  They do not want to be told what they must do.  They want to have all of the information, which they will seek out as well as obtain from their provider, and make their own decisions.
